Terms of Service

Effective 3 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Deckroom, which is operated from India, for your use of Deckroom at deckroom.live (“the service”). By creating an account or joining a session, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. Who can use Deckroom

You must be 18 or over to create a presenter account. Attendees can join sessions without an account. If you use Deckroom on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. Your account

Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us at privacy@deckroom.live if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Your content

You own the decks, notes and other material you create in Deckroom (“your content”). You give us permission to store, process and display your content only as needed to run the service for you: for example, to save your decks and show your slides to the attendees of your sessions.

Attendees keep ownership of what they contribute (such as questions), and give the presenter and us permission to display it in that session and keep it with the session’s results.

You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to it, including any images you link to.

4. Running sessions

As a presenter, you decide what you ask your audience. Don’t use Deckroom to collect sensitive personal information from attendees (such as health details, government ID numbers or payment details), and follow the law and your organisation’s rules when you collect anything from them. Our Privacy Policy explains how session data is handled.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use Deckroom to:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. Price and changes to the service

Deckroom is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we’ll describe them and their prices before you can buy them. We’re actively developing Deckroom, so features may change, and we may add, change or remove them. If we make a change that significantly affects how you use it, we’ll tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

7. Ending your use

You can stop using Deckroom at any time, delete your decks yourself, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we’ll give notice and a chance to download your content first.

8. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Deckroom reliable, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, so keep a backup plan for important presentations. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or opportunities, and our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

10. Indemnity

If you use Deckroom for a business, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims by others caused by your content or by your breach of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim locally or requires its own law to apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and for significant changes we’ll tell presenters before they take effect. If you keep using Deckroom after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
